Country Kids

Lyrics:

Setting posts and stringing wire
Helping Dad on the farm.
Up at dawn feeding chicks in the barn
Country kids on the farm.

Chorus
Country kids feel the land in their soul
When they breathe in the morning air
They work hard every day for the love not the pay,
And start every day with a prayer.

After morning chores, it’s off to class
Riding my horse to the school
Sitting by the girl I want to charm
Country kids on the farm.

Back from the war, now I own the farm,
Working hard with my wife and my kids
Up before dawn before the alarm
Country kids on the farm.

Now I’m thinking of passing on the farm,
Big dreams of what it will become.
Hope my family carries it on
These country kids on the farm.

Waltz with Me

Lyrics:

The boss has me working five to nine
I’m workin’ hard to make her mine
Up in the morning before the sun
Working hard to get it done

Chorus
Come waltz with me on this dance floor,
As we hold each other tight.
At the end of the day, it’s time to sway,
Dancing the night away.

Up in the morning patients I see
No sleep -- just coffee for me
New babies arrive and they greet the day,
Bringing joy in every way.

We worked hard all this week.
It’s off to the dance floor we seek
Waltzing our troubles far, far away
As we dance the night away.

Now that we’re older, our kids have all grown.
They all have kids of their own.
Off to the side watching us dance,
They can feel our life long romance.

Give Yourself to the World

Lyrics:

I learned important lessons as a child,
How to walk in someone else’s shoes
To see what they see and feel what they feel
Even if it means sharing my meal.

Chorus
Her full heart - it spills out
Giving gifts full of Life
Music, Medicine, a nurse, and a wife
She gives herself to the world.

Busy days and busy nights
Working herself to the bone
Helping others strive for health
Sometimes she felt alone.

Every day I have the chance to give my self away
And when I do, I feel joy and sometimes pain.
But I will not stop - you can’t bring me down.
My friends and family keep me sane.

Our Town

Lyrics:

Friends and family have your back
They support in times of need.
We laugh together when the times are good.
Because this is our town.

Chorus
This is our town.
It’s the only town we’ve got
While I am here, I’ll give her everything I’ve got
Because this is our town.

We can help our community grow
By giving back when we can
Offering a helping hand
Because this is our town.

We volunteer our time to folks in need
To help everyone grow and succeed.
Knowing someday I may be in need
Because this is our town.

Be honest with what you do
To welcome others old and new
Generations will prosper and thrive,
Because this is our town.

Love The Land

Lyrics:

Waking up chores at hand
I put my soul into this land.
Working hard every day
But the time has slipped away

Chorus
Love the land and hold her close.
Don’t let it slip away.
We’ve given blood, sweat, and tears.
We’ll hold it safe in our hands.

I hate to leave; it’s time to go
Leaving this land that I call home.
Will I come back – I’ll never know
I’ll never forget my sweet home.

Now I’m back where cattle roam
found my love, started our home
She shares my dreams and makes me whole
On this land we call home.

On this land I’ve had my fun
All my chores have long been done
As I age and life goes on,
I hope this land stays when I’m gone.
