Trouble

Lyrics:

Trouble, it started early. When I was just a kid.
Running around doing this and that, things that people forbid
On the streets or in the classroom, was where I learned to lie
It taught me well how to survive, and how to comply

Chorus

Trouble it can smash you flat
Chase you around like an old tom cat
Twist you like an acrobat
But just shake it off with the tip of a hat.

Day after day I kept thinking of all the things I’d done
Walked a path that brought me here, the trauma and the fun
Being the youngest has taught me a lot things that would help me through
Given me perspective and put things in a different view.

Now it’s time to spread the word of all the things I’ve learned
To share the wisdom that I have and share my concern
To enjoy my life and have the faith to let trouble go Just tip the hat to trouble and let life flow

The Land (The Soul)

Inspired by Gaylene Shank

Lyrics:

It only takes a spark to make a dream come true
It starts with inspiration and a goal
Sometime it feels impossible, just out of reach
That’s when you dig deep in your soul

Chorus

Plant your dreams deep, nurture them with love
Soon they will blossom with the sun
Know that they’ve been waiting, waiting just for you
This new story has begun

As green turns to red it makes me want to stop
And give up and settle for something less
But I will raise my hand and take another step
I will settle for nothing but success

Even when times seem scary, I will have no fear
I will lean on my faith and trust my heart
Move past the unknown doing things I’ve never done
This is my brand new start.

Kids, Kids, More Kids

Inspired by Jackie Elliott
Aaron Fowler & 6th Hour music class at Goodland High School

Lyrics:

Growing up in my town, I loved being a kid
Swimming pools, baseball games, golf is what we did
Hanging out with my friends eating ice cream cones
I loved being a kid, living without a phone

Chorus

Kids, kids so many kids, each a shining light
Teach each one, make them shine, help them see the light

Watched my teachers everyday, seeing how they taught
I always knew I wanted to teach, that was my only thought
I went away to go to school had to get my degree
Came back to my hometown and got a classroom key

In my class numbers were key, computers where there too
Adding and subtracting that is what we do
Out of class I was on the greens golf it was my thing
Loved to teach those students exactly how to swing.

Those its sad to see them go they should know I love them so
I see them in their cap and gown, happy tears go down.
But now I am retired and I’ve given back my key
I’m busy as ever, taking picture brings joy to me

Snow Day

Inspired by a Real Snow Day!

Lyrics:

Mom says no school today, she said it snowed too much.
So I Jumped out of bed to look outside, to confirm her hunch
So I go downstairs full of excitement I went with no delay
Wondering what will happen on this snowy day?

Chorus

Snow day, snow day,
everyone shout hooray
Something fun awaits for us
On this snowy day

Moms says to bundle up, you know it cold out there
I throw on a heavy coat, a hat to cover my hair
So I step outside, feel the chill, takes my breath away
Wondering what will would happen on this snowy day?

Mom says go grab your sled, go play on the hill
Be extra careful I don’t want to have a bill
So down the hill lighting fast on my awesome sleigh
Wondering what will happen on this snowy day?

Mom says come inside before you catch a cold
So I sit by the fire, warm up my hands, memories to be told
A cup of hot chocolate in my hand, I sip it with no delay
Wondering what will happen on this snowy day?

Moms says to get in bed, but I’m thinking about the day
Sledding down the great big hill, riding on my sleigh
All I can think about is the fun I had today
Hoping that the weatherman will bring another snow day
